Major U.S. economic hubs—such as California and New York—that have had businesses closed or severely impacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, have gradually started to reopen. That means retail stores, barber shops, gyms, spas, and other establishments will be attracting the public for the first time in months. Such a long layoff from shopping and errand running—combined with new safety measures that range anywhere from suggestions to mandates—can lead to a confusing and somewhat intimidating environment.Customers should be made to feel at ease, both in terms of safety as well as where to go and what to do as they’re reintroduced to the in-person shopping experience. Here are five easy ways to make it happen:Don’t be shy about telling the world that you’re back in business. There’s a wide array of outdoor flag and banner stands that can be used to attract new customers or show existing ones where to go for curbside pickup and other services. Feather banner stands—also known as flying banners or beach flags—are a sturdy, flexible, and eye-catching product that comes in multiple sizes and can be seen from a distance. Outdoor retractable banner stands that flex in the wind, as well as X-banner-style models that include plastic bases that can be filled with sand or water for stability, are a great option for walk-up businesses.Window and wall decals, A-frame signs, and grommeted banners get the job done as well. Regardless of how you choose to do it, remember to shout from the rooftops—or, at least, from the sidewalks—that you’re open and ready to serve the public.Once customers are inside a retail establishment, they'll need clear instruction on how to comply with new suggestions and regulations. It can be difficult enough for people to resume shopping and running errands in the midst of a pandemic; not knowing where to go or what exactly to do may only intensify that feeling of discomfort. Make the public feel safe, welcome, and at ease by posting clear messages at multiple points during their shopping process. Retractable banner stands, because of their ability to be relocated and have graphics easily switched out, are a perfect way to accomplish this.Retractable banner stands are available in many different sizes and price points. Regardless of your budget or how long (and how often) you intend to use the stand, you should be able to find the right fit. It's going to be vitally important—in the short term, at the very least—for businesses that are reopening to direct traffic. Maintaining social distancing should be key in efforts to keep employees and customers healthy. The strategic placement of floor decals with either custom or pre-made artwork that displays social distancing reminders go a long way toward accomplishing that goal.Good floor graphics and floor decals are slip resistant, and UL listed as such, as well as scratch and scuff resistant so that heavy traffic doesn't ruin them. Floor graphics should also hold up to common floor cleaning chemicals and methods. The floor decal adhesives should hold the floor graphics firmly in place, but come off without leaving adhesive residue or damaging the floor when removed. You’ll want to use floor decal materials that meet these requirements and are specifically designed for floor use, whether it’s concrete, carpet, or anything in between.Touchless hand sanitizer dispensers should be readily available for use by employees and customers alike. Those dispensers can come in the form of simple wall-mounted units, or they can be placed anywhere by attaching them to a stand. One effective method is to set up a sanitation station. That type of display can be used not only to let shoppers and workers know where to find the sanitizer dispenser when they need it, but also to attract attention in an attempt to remind people to sanitize often. As the need for face coverings becomes more prevalent, an entire industry of ineffective cloth masks has emerged. Even disposable surgical masks, which technically shouldn't be worn more than once, are much more effective in terms of fending off particles that could contain viruses. For the fashion conscious, wearing a disposable surgical mask underneath a cloth mask would go a long way toward at least ensuring others are protected, which is the sensible and courteous thing to do. These surgical masks are generally inexpensive, even to the point where businesses might find it advantageous to pass them out to customers as they walk in the door in a true effort to protect other shoppers and workers. For people who also want to be protected themselves, KN95 masks are a great option because they filter out at least 95 percent of potential contaminates while still remaining breathable. Or, if you prefer to make your own masks (or have someone else make them), consider using an antimicrobial soft knit fabric that uses a special combination of silver and vesicle technologies to kill microbes such as viruses and bacteria so they can’t live on the surface or multiply. As individual state governors continue to announce face covering mandates, make sure you're prepared with masks that are functional rather than simply fashionable.Businesses that require significant face-to-face interaction would benefit from protective shields—or, as they’re commonly referred to, sneeze guards—which are sheets of clear acrylic usually held up by aluminum tubing or a similar type of frame, but can also come in table-top form with feet that hold the acrylic in place. These shields can be made into many different shapes and sizes, including those with cutouts at the bottom to allow for exchange of currency and merchandise. There are also more economical options, such as a banner stand equipped with clear polyester film, that present a portable solution that comes in larger heights than the acrylic versions and can be used in offices and classrooms, as well as at trade shows. For more information on these and other products needed to help get your business back on its feet, contact a Power Graphics representative today.
Outdoor posters and banners are very effective in raising awareness about new products and services and are frequently used for launches and brand building. They help create demand among the general public in the areas where they are displayed. Here are the multiple benefits of using outdoor signs by both new companies and established brands that help advertisers carry out successful marketing campaigns.
Continuous Marketing Messages: Outdoor banners are an effective and influential marketing technique as they show the same message daily to viewers and drive the message into their minds. When those same people go out to make a purchase or hire a service, they are more likely to want what they viewed on the way to the store. These banners can be used to advertise both new product launches or to highlight new uses for existing products.
Brand Building Through Brevity: Banners placed in high traffic areas and strategic locations are useful for sharing short and impactful messages about products. These can be used for brand building, creating awareness, and even sharing product features in the form of short teasers that stimulate curiosity among the public. Succinct messages improve brand identity when written in attractive colors and appealing text designs.
Reach Potential Customers: Outdoor advertising like outdoor banner stands can help to reach potential customers in competitive marketplaces like shopping malls that have dozens of brands vying for attention. Well-designed banners that target particular shoppers can be placed outside the store or the shopping mall to attract potential buyers.
Cost-Effective: Outdoor banners are a budget-friendly advertising medium when compared with online and offline mediums like social media, television, print, and radio. These are the first choice for small and medium businesses working with small marketing budgets. Outdoor banners can also be used on moving vehicles like public transport and on static surfaces like lamp posts and roadside banners in central business districts.
Day/Night Audience: Weatherproof outdoor banners can work 24/7 to convey a brand message. When designed with attractive colors and modern materials like vinyl outdoor, banners can help you gain new customers and retain existing customers.
The realty business is extremely competitive. To survive, real estate agents must be focused, determined, and know how to leverage business opportunities. If you are planning on becoming a successful agent, here are a few other things to include in your arsenal:
A bad attitude can be very damaging in the real estate business. Realtors who’re constantly surrounded by self-doubt do not have the motivation to pursue or convince clients. Even if you do not feel positive, acting positive can cause a shift in attitude and help you achieve results. Start your day with positive affirmations and train your mind to find a silver lining in every situation.
Real estate agents place a lot of value in maintaining good relationships. They build contacts and generate leads by creating a sphere of influence. This includes focusing on family, friends, colleagues, classmates, business associates, service providers, etc. Keeping track of these connections is also important. You can keep track of these contacts by maintaining a spreadsheet program, or if your sphere of influence is large, consider investing in CRM software. These programs allow you to maintain and automate client bases, sales, etc. You could also consider investing in lead generation software.

Traditional forms of advertising focus on building trust and popularity for a brand. Displaying advertisements in print publications, billboard ads, emails, and other ways are a few conventional methods used to publicize products and services.
When compared to other methods, banner stands are much more convenient and cost-effective. They are available in a wide range of sizes and shapes, and you can choose between roll up banner stands, X-frame banner stands, outdoor banner stands, and portable banner stands to display your brand message. As for the design, you could either design them yourself or work with our team to turn your marketing ideas into the perfect promotional display.
Here, we list a few commonly available banner stands and their advantages:
Outdoor Banner Stands
An outdoor banner stand is the best option for all kinds of outdoor marketing events as they are portable and can be used often. Retractable banner stands are called so because of the retractable mechanism that winds the banner around a roller in the base. The graphic stays secure inside the stand when not in use, while an internal spring system creates tension and ensures that the banner can be pulled easily and stays upright when on display. Besides trade shows, they are popularly used for retail displays, at shopping malls, and at theatres. Here are some other uses for retractable banner stands:
A Backdrop for a Selfie Booth
Selfie booths are a huge attraction at trade shows, exhibitions, and other events. Rather than spend money on a selfie booth, use a retractable banner as a backdrop to create your own. You could include your logo or brand name and pair the background with some cool props for even more fun. If you’re running a special promotion, you could even theme your background and props around it. To grab social media attention, ask visitors to use a specific hashtag to qualify for a prize competition.
Marketing at Conferences and Exhibitions
Use retractable banner stands as a marketing prop to display information about your company, its products and services, and logos and slogans. You can either put it up in front of the booth, inside the booth, or in and around the exhibition to encourage visitors to visit your booth. You can also use it to divide space in a booth, using part of the space for storage while simultaneously advertising your product.
If you’re hosting a conference, retractable banner stands can be used to promote key speakers, display the itinerary, and offer direction to guide attendees towards the right areas.
Information and Reaching Out
If you’re a small business dependent on support from the local community, retractable banner stands can be used to reach out. Include QR codes, discounts, and other information to connect to those who matter most. They can be great for local fairs and farmer’s markets as well. Plus, they can also be used for election campaigns to encourage voters to choose a particular candidate.

A trade show is a great platform to showcase your business and meet prospective clients. But engaging thousands of fickle visitors with short attention spans is not an easy job. You need an eye-catching display to attract people to your booth. Of all elements related to an exhibition, trade show displays are probably the most important one of all. Here’s why we think you should pay proper attention to banner stands, backlit displays, and other trade show displays:
They Help You Build Your Brand
Trade show displays help to create a positive impression. It defines who you are, what you do, and how well you do it. Businesses that spend time and effort to stand out at trade shows buy the best fixtures and trade show materials. Put yourself in the shoes of an average visitor. Wouldn’t you prefer to visit a booth that’s well-designed and visually appealing? If you want your business to be taken seriously and prove yourself as reliable, do not skimp on quality displays.
They Enhance Visibility
The right trade show displays can help highlight the best features of your products or services. For instance, tabletop displays can be used to mention key features, while iPad displays can be used to demonstrate how a product is used. You also use video displays to show how your company is different from your competitors. Hanging displays ensure that your booth is visible from any location within the trade show hall, which can be particularly important at large events.
They Create a Lasting Impression
With the right color scheme and a well-designed booth, you can draw visitors to your booth. And with quality trade show displays, you can keep them there for a longer time. Customized displays and catchy display messages help to engage visitors and leave a positive impression even after they leave. Specially designed furniture and good lighting can also make your booth more inviting, giving your staff more time to engage with customers.

Banner stands provide great opportunities for businesses looking to promote their brand and highlight their products and/or services. Banner stands are commonly used at trade shows to deliver impactful visual messages and reach potential clients. You could even display a banner stand in a public place to spread the word about your business.
But unfortunately buying a banner stand is not always easy. There are different types of banner stands, each designed to fit specific requirements. Do you need a stand for indoor use? Are you considering purchasing an outdoor stand? What if you need a banner for a small countertop? For answers to these questions, read through the following sections and learn why banner stands are sought after today!
Different Types of Banner Stands
Banner stands are available in a wide range of display styles, from retractable stands to roll-up and pull up varieties—make sure you pick a product that matches your requirements.
Retractable banner stands are easy to set up and take down. Some models have a fixed height while others are adjustable depending on the pole that comes with the product. These stands are best for indoor events.
X Banner Stands can be set up by attaching the banner to its support arms using grommets. It’s important to know these stands are lightweight, so they aren't suitable for areas where they are likely to be exposed to breeze through a door. Like retractable banners, these are great for indoor use.
Tabletop banner stands are designed specifically to be used on tables, so they're ideal at trade shows when you’re trying to display information in a small space. They’re also used to showcase menus, explain product features, or display contact information.
Outdoor banner stands are, as their name suggests, ideal for outdoor use. They’re flexible and capable of withstanding the elements.
What Should You Consider When Buying a Banner
When buying banner stands, first consider the amount of space needed for the display as well as the area where you intend to set the display up. For example, if the exhibition space is small, consider pop-up display stands—these serve as great backdrop coverage and setting them up is easy. If you need a large backdrop, a banner wall works best.
If time is important and you have to set up your booth immediately, go for banner stands that can be put together easily and with little help from others. Some products need extra attention, and these are not ideal for long-term use. Then there are the products that are designed to withstand the elements. Make sure you know which banner stand is best for your situation. You could start by researching some products on the internet, but with the countless options available, it’s easy to get confused. Speak to our customer service staff if you need help selecting a display that fits your requirements.
If you could make one small change to your décor, what would it be? We suggest adding a printed wall mural—they bring life to a dull wall and are more affordable than hiring a mural painter.
You could get family photographs, famous artworks, freehand designs, and even your logo and brand name printed on a wall mural, or you could use one of the images offered by our gallery. Basically, you can digitally reproduce any image for use as a wall mural.

Where to Use Wall Murals
As it was said earlier, wall murals are eye-catching and convenient options for decorating a room. For example, you could add some color to your kid’s room or the baby’s nursery with fun wall decals and murals.
Large wall murals are mainly used to fill blank wall space. Want to impress potential clients? Add a wall mural to your office’s waiting area. How about covering an entire passage wall at a trade show or conference with your company’s information? These murals can be used to make a space more vibrant, and they’re also great for showing first-time visitors what a company’s culture is all about. If your office has an open floor plan, a wall mural can be used to divide space.
Choosing the Right Sizes and Materials
At Power Graphics, we offer plenty of sizes and material options for our customers. Some of our customers prefer standard wallpaper whereas others prefer vinyl wall murals. And if you’re shopping for an item you can use temporarily, our removable self-adhesive wall murals are ideal for you.
When choosing a material type, consider the surface of the wall you intend to use, the purpose of the wall mural (temporary or permanent), and the place where you will be installing the mural. Vinyl, for example, works well on textured surfaces like concrete and brick. But if you need something for temporary use, this wall decal is the perfect choice: both placing and removing the decal is easy, it can be reused when handled properly, and it will leave no marks on the wall.

The first rule of creating great trade show displays is to work with a good designer. This rule also extends to hiring a competent printing service. Professional printing companies that have several years of experience know every detail of the printing process—they can warn you if your requirements do not match a design or offer advice regarding printing style and which techniques are best suited for your design.
At Power Graphics, we have been working with small-size and medium-size businesses for more than 25 years, offering high-quality prints for excellent value. Some of the ways we help clients effectively bring out brand value include:
Using Environment-Friendly Products
People no longer mind spending a little more money on products and services offered by eco-friendly companies. If you’re making efforts to promote sustainability, there’s certainly no harm in making sure customers know about them.
For example, we offer a wide range of nature-friendly, plasticizer-free, recycled, and recyclable indoor and outdoor media. These products are printed using eco-friendly latex inks or UV curable inks. All our green products carry a friendly icon, allowing you to showcase your eco-friendly credentials.
Focusing on the Details
It’s the small details that separate good designs from the great ones. We tell our clients: if a design has too many elements, it’s a good idea to scale back. Sometimes a client has a design that has too many colors. With our experience, we can help these clients establish color harmony and make sure their designs are simple and straightforward. Small elements like rounded and squared corners, gradients, sizes, and font faces are important, and each element plays a part in reception.
Choosing the Right Printing Materials
When selecting printing materials, it’s important to consider the characteristics of the object you’re printing on. You must also consider the environment where the banner stand will be used. If a display will be used in a food service or health care area, such a hospital, doctor's office, or cafeteria, it's important to use materials and printing techniques that don't give off harmful fumes or odors that would be inappropriate in such areas. When in doubt, we're happy to help make sure you're selecting the best materials for your particular needs.
If you’re looking for high-quality trade show graphics, call us!
Expensive trade show displays and grand booth designs do not always ensure trade show success. Sometimes small things—like how your trade show graphics are designed or the color and texture of your backlit graphics—can attract trade show attendees to stop and take notice. If you’re planning to set up an exhibition stand for an upcoming event, here are a few things to consider:
Look for Graphics That Suit Your Brand’s Personality
Trade show graphicsmust be consistently aligned with your brand values. For example, the graphics used on banner stands, tabletop displays, or other trade show displays must match the giveaways, promotional flyers, and brochures you hand out to prospective visitors.
When designing graphics for our clients, we try and understand brand value before doing anything. Does the brand embrace playfulness or prefer being reserved? Does the brand focus on a young audience or one that’s older? What human characteristics (creativity, honesty, empathy, outspokenness) reflect through the brand?
Do Not Crowd the Banner with Too Many Words
Trade show displays are all about visual appeal. Make sure the images used are clean, attractive, and eye catching. Wordy visuals turn off audiences, and it’s said the average trade show attendee spends no more than two to three seconds glancing through a display. To communicate your message effectively, do not use more than six or seven compelling words. The idea is to draw a person’s attention with images—if the images are effective, focus will then move to booth staff.
Graphic designers are always drawing influence from brands when choosing color schemes; this is also done to maintain uniformity with an overall marketing design. Look for colors that represent your brand and are consistent with the message you’re trying to convey.
Some of the basic rules of ensuring color harmony include:
- Contrast text colors with backgrounds.
- Use bright colors for long-range graphics.
- Maintain a balance in color unity—too many similar colors can be unappealing while too much diversity can be over-stimulating.
Text Placement Matters as Well
Important text must be placed at eye level. The two-foot area above the top of the banner is the best place for text. Also, do not fit too many words in a single line as this affects readability.
