Keeping it simple can work to your advantage at tradeshows
Surrounded by the glitz and glamor of other exhibits at trade shows, it’s easy to feel like you have to measure up to be successful. However, this is not the only way to stand out. And in fact, keeping things simple helps visitors stay focused on what you’re actually selling. There are a variety of reasons why it can be beneficial to steer clear of an extravagant display:
Maintaining a straightforward approach when it comes to designing your exhibit can help keep your costs down. You can use a smaller booth size, in addition to minimizing both shipping costs for equipment and setup time at the event.- It should be immediately obvious what product or service your booth is showcasing. Too much clutter distracts and confuses visitors, and can discourage them from even stepping foot into your exhibit. Most will not take the time to try to guess what you have to offer, and will simply move on to a different booth.
- Staffing your booth wisely can make all the difference. Rely on polite, knowledgeable employees to give your company a positive image instead of the flashiness of the booth design. Visitors will respect you for this and be encouraged to ask more questions about your product.
- Just because you may not have the means or the desire to create an elaborate exhibit, does not mean that it has to be boring. Utilize tasteful consistency in your design and perhaps have music at a low volume. A small amount of appropriate lighting can go a long way as well in transforming a sparse, lifeless exhibit into an understated, sophisticated one.
