It depends on what material you're using and environment where you're using it. With a foam board, it can typically hold a 7' to 8' tall graphic, but with something heavier, you would be limited to a shorter graphic, and in a high traffic area where people may bump into the sign, you'd probably want to keep the sign shorter for greater stability.

These heavy weight Double L Mounts are steel bases that hold 1/2" thick rigid materials. The powder coated finishes feature fine textures that are designed to withstand high traffic areas.
These all metal units feature welded construction, are extremely solid and remarkably heavy for extra stable displays on any flat surface in lobbies, tradeshow display floors, airports, shopping malls, and retail stores. Unlike standard sign stands and floor standing sign holders, these metal sign bases are not limited to holding a particular size graphic since the height can be any length.
Available in 14", 24", 36", 48" and 60" widths in both satin silver and matte black finishes. Double L Mounts ship assembled and installation is as simple as inserting your 1/2" rigid graphic into the slot.
Double L Mounts have a height of 4" off the floor, and measure 7.75" from front to back.
