This watercolor paper is made by Hahnemuhle in Germany and features a distinct parchment surface. The word torchon is taken from the French and means "coarse structure" which describes this paper. It's machine made paper that consists of acid free 100% alpha cellulose with a bright white color obtained by adding optical brighteners. It's a fine art printing paper with excellent color depth that produces photo realistic definition and tremendous color range and depth. Available in widths up to 44".

Approximate longevity of 50-80 years in gallery lighting conditions.

Favorite Features

The parchment like texture is unique.

This paper contains optical brighteners, which can affect the longevity of the paper. It's a very stiff paper that takes work to flatten once rolled. Like all paper prints, it should be framed under glass.

Best Applications

Fine art and photo reproductions where a parchment textured paper is desired. Great for printing maps and drawings.
