Green Solutions
While we've always tried to offer environmentally friendly solutions where possible, we've recently been actively looking for more eco-friendly options for our customers who are concerned about the enviroment and want to find printing materials and processes that are better for the planet. This page highlights the options we offer throughout our website that are eco-friendly, so that you can find them all on one page.
Our Green Solutions are generally materials that contain no PVC, are recycleable, and are printed with environmentally friendly inks. Throughout the site, we have marked these products with our Green Solutions leaf symbol to highlight them as being eco-friendly. There are some categories where we haven't been able to find eco-friendly solutions, such as vehicle graphics which require the conformability of vinyl. But, we have upgraded most of our PVC (vinyl) materials to print with water based latex inks instead of solvent inks to make them as eco-friendly as possible.
The tabs below contain information on our Green Solutions for indoor use, outdoor use, and display hardware. Fine Art and Photo Reproduction is not specifically listed, because virtually all of those products have always been eco-friendly, so we have not specifically included them here.
Paper Prints
All our paper prints are eco-friendly. They are produced from wood pulp, which is a renewable resource, they are recycleable, contain no PVC, and are printed with water based inks, so in some ways, they are the ultimate Green Solution. Paper prints are used in a wide variety of applications such as posters, signs, legal graphics, and photo enlargements.
Blue Back Poster Paper – 6.5 Mil
The blue backing on this economical media makes it highly opaque, while the satin finish provides brilliant, true-to-life color quality. Specially designed for outdoor billboards, poster printing and kiosks, it features water and scratch resistant durability and is also easily foldable without risk of scratching or rupturing. Available in widths up to 54".
Approx. longevity of 6 months to 1 year outdoors, and up to 20 years indoors.
Indoor/Outdoor Poster Paper - 10 mil
This heavy weight latex-saturated wet strength paper is tear resistant, water proof, fade resistant, and scuff and scratch resistant, making it an excellent choice for indoor and outdoor poster size prints and billboards. This paper can also be applied with standard wallpaper paste for an inexpensive short term wallpaper solution. Available in widths up to 54"
Approx. longevity of 6 months outdoors, and up to 20 years indoors.
Synthetic Satin Photo Paper - 7 mil
This synthetic paper is tear proof, water proof, fade resistant, and scuff and scratch resistant, making it an excellent choice for indoor and outdoor color poster printing without the need for lamination. It doesn't have quite the print quality of our high end photo papers, but is otherwise a great product that is also environmentally friendly. Available in widths up to 54".
Approx. longevity of 2 years outdoors and up to 25 years indoors.
Satin Photo Paper - 7mil
This photo paper has a luster finish that falls between a gloss and a semi-gloss paper. Great for short term use such as digital poster prints and indoor signs. Can be laminated and mounted on a variety of substrates such as posterboard, Sintra, or Gatorfoam. For indoor use with dye inks. Available in widths up to 50".
Approx. 1-5 year indoor longevity.
Matte Lithography Paper - 13mil
This natural white, cover weight paper is water resistant and designed to mimic heavy offset printing paper. It features excellent image quality and longevity, so it’s great for photo poster prints, photo enlargements, art prints, and indoor signs. It can also be mounted to a variety of materials such as posterboard, Sintra, and Gatorfoam. Available in widths up to 36".
Approximate longevity of 50-80 years.
Card Stock - 11mil
This opaque card stock can be printed single or double sided for economical posters. The smooth semi-gloss surface offers excellent color and image quality, and the print is scratch and water resistant without need for lamination. Rigid enough to be self-supporting in slide in frames, it's great for use in sign holders, suspended from ceilings or displayed in windows.
Available in widths up to 57".

Banners
These banner materials are a special selection that, with one exception, aren't made of vinyl. The exception is the Bioflex banner which is a specially engineered vinly banner that is biodegradeable, so even though it does contain PVC, it's listed here because of it's unique, eco-friendly properties.
Dupont Tyvek - 11 mil
This eco-friendly banner material has great image quality, smooth matte finish and is printed with environmentally friendly latex inks for a waterproof, tear resistant and abrasion resistant banner. Tyvek® is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), which is 100% recyclable and accepted at most local recycling facilities, and it has similar durability to scrim vinyl banners. Available in widths up to 60".
Longevity of 1-3 years outdoors, 3-20 years indoors.
HDPE Reinforced Banner - 5.5 oz
This recyclable High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) banner material helps reduce the impact of printing on the environment by providing an alternative to vinyl banners. It has great outdoor durability and is designed to withstand harsh weather conditions without fading or losing vibrancy. At 5.5 oz, it offers tear strength equal to or greater than most standard 13 ounce scrim vinyl products. Available in widths up to 54".
Longevity of 3-20 years indoors, 6 mo. - 1 year outdoors.
Polyester Display Film - 7 mil
This glossy polyester film has a blockout layer on the back so no light can be transmitted through the material. It's printed at our highest resolution and image quality, resists edge curl, and has a glossy finish for rich, saturated colors. Polyester is very eco-friendly, and it's printed with water based inks for one of the most environmentally conscious graphics available. It’s an excellent choice for banner stand graphics, especially retractables and can be used as is for short term use, or as our Tradeshow Banner, which is this material with our 5 mil polycarbonate laminate. Available in widths up to 50".
Longevity of 5-50 years indoors, depending on exposure to sunlight.
15oz Bioflex Banner
This durable biodegradable banner material has a matte finish and offers excellent color reproduction. Unlike other vinyl banners, in landfill conditions, the patented construction of Bioflex attracts microbes that break down the PVC within 3 to 5 years. Bioflex contains no toxic materials and is tear, fade and fungus resistant. Available in widths up to 72".
It’s fade resistant for up to three years outdoors, or 20 years indoors, but it’s outdoor life expectancy is 1-2 years if properly hung, depending on wind conditions.
Window Clings and Graphics
Many of our wall mural materials contain PVC because of it's durability and also because it can be embossed into different surface textures. But, these materials are the exception. They contain no PVC, are recycleable, biodegradeable, and are printed with water based latex inks for excellent quality and durability.
Clear EcoCling - 4 mil
This polyester film has scratch and water resistant finish for indoor and outdoor use, and the back side features a unique suction-cling surface tension coating that allows the material to securely stick to glass, metal, or any smooth sealed surface. Since it has no adhesive, it can be removed and reapplied without leaving a residue, and it won’t stretch or fall off in cold weather like static clings. For a face mount application, the clear version can be reverse printed with a white flood coat.
Approximate longevity of 5 years indoors, 2 years outdoors.
Clear EcoCling
TacLite - 4 mil
This polyester film has scratch and water resistant finish for indoor and outdoor use, and the back side features a unique suction-cling surface tension coating that allows the material to securely stick to glass, metal, or any smooth sealed surface. Since it has no adhesive, it can be removed and reapplied without leaving a residue, and it won’t stretch or fall off in cold weather like static clings. For a face mount application, the clear version can be reverse printed with a white flood coat.

White TacLite
Repositionable Window Graphic - 3 mil
This clear polyester film has a special repositionable adhesive that makes it easy to apply without bubbles, and it can be removed and reapplied as long as the adhesive is kept clean. By default, this material is printed for face mounting to the inside of a window with a white flood coat for opacity that covers the entire graphic. If requested, it can also be printed so the back of the graphic will adhere to the glass, and it can be printed so only the printed areas have a white flood coat leaving the unprinted areas clear. You can specify how you want it printed in the Special Instructions area when ordering, and if no special request is made, the default face mount configuration will be used. Available in widths up to 54".
Longevity of 2-20 years indoors.
Crystal Clear Window Decal - 2 mil
This super clear polyester window film is designed for interior or exterior mounting on untinted glass surfaces. Polyester provides a greater level of clarity for a painted on look that allows for bold, vivid graphics that resist fading and yellowing. Optionally, the image areas can be under-printed with white for the best visibility in a window. This material should be installed wet, and instructions are available in the FAQ tab, as that's the best way to achieve a clear, bubble free appearance on glass. Available in widths up to 60".
Longevity of 2-20 years indoors, 1 year outdoors. Cleanly removable for 6 months.
View Through Paper - 7 mil
This perforated black-backed paper makes inexpensive interior mount window graphics that can be seen through from the inside. Perfect for short term uses where the graphic needs to go on the inside of the window. Available in 50% perforation, it can be taped in place, or used with our MicroDot face mount adhesive. Available in widths up to 54".
Longevity of 6 months to 2 years.
View Through Film - 7 mil
This perforated black-backed polyester film makes interior mount window graphics that can be seen through from the inside. Perfect where the graphic needs to go on the inside of the window without blocking your view. Available in 30% perforation, it can be taped in place, or used with our MicroDot face mount adhesive. Available in widths up to 54".
Longevity of 2-5 years depending on handling.
Wall Murals and Graphics
Many of our wall mural materials contain PVC because of it's durability and also because it can be embossed into different surface textures. But, these materials are the exception. They contain no PVC, are recycleable, biodegradeable, and are printed with water based latex inks for excellent quality and durability.
PVC-Free Pre-Pasted Wallpaper - 7 mil
This flame-retardant wallpaper is printed with latex inks for an eco- friendly alternative to vinyl wallcoverings. The ultra-smooth finish and vivid color make is suitable for any image, and the pre-pasted backing makes for easy application and guaranteed easy and clean removability. Meets commerical wall covering standards. Available in widths up to 54".
Longevity of up to 20 years indoors away from direct sunlight.
Terralon Wallcovering - 20 oz
This eco-friendly type II wallcovering contains 31% post consumer recycled content. It’s PVC and POA free, contains no plasticizers, phthalates, formaldehyde, chlorine, halogen, or heavy metals, and it’s printed with eco-friendly latex inks. It’s also recyclable, LEED credit eligible and Class A fire rated. It has an orange peel texture similar to textured drywall. Can be hung using standard wallpaper paste.
Longevity of 5-50 years indoors, depending on exposure to sunlight.
Terralon is a PVC free alternative wallcovering material that has a light texture similar to an orange peel look. Terralon is made from 31 percent post consumer recycled materials, is breathable, has extremely low VOC's, and can contribute to various LEED credits.
PhotoStick - 5 mil
Photo Stick is a removable adhesive fabric with a matte finish that can be mounted to any flat surface and re-positioned countless times…but still retains its adhesion without leaving a residue. It is water-resistant, doesn't tear or wrinkle, and can be illuminated with back-lighting, so it’s a great material for making removable wall graphics, wall decals, custom wall murals, borders, reusable vehicle graphics and more. Available in widths up to 60".

Backlit Graphics
All our our backlit films are eco-friendly, and are listed here. They are all polyester or polypropylene based films printed with water based inks. We recommend a protective laminate for these graphics if they will be handled much, so the best eco-friendly option would be our Eco Guard polypropylene laminate.
Front Print Backlit Film - 7 mil
This polyester film features a state of the art opacifying layer that diffuses light throughout the printed image so that it is evenly lit and produces a wide color gamut with good saturation. It can be laminated for greater durability and scratch resistance, as well as to increase the stiffness. Available in widths up to 60"
Approx. longevity of 5 to 10 years indoors.
Premium Backlit Polyester Film - 8.5 mil
This front printed backlit film has a gloss finish for excellent color depth and is designed for high quality graphic arts applications in backlit-boxes with high contrast. It's printed with latex inks, so it's waterproof and suitable for areas with high humidity and condensation. Like our other products, it can be laminated for increased durability and stiffness. Available in widths up to 60". Approx. longevity of 2 years outdoors and 5 years indoors.
Hollywood Backlit Film - 13 mil
This extra heavy weight backlit media is an excellent choice for backlit displays and trade show graphics. It produces vivid colors, is waterproof and will last for up to 2 years outdoors or 5 years indoors in a lightbox. It offers a gloss finish and doesn't require lamination, although laminates should be used for greater durability in harsh environments, or when used as backlit trade show panels.

Fabrics
Fabrics are generally considered eco-friendly materials. They are made from either natural fibers such as cotton or silk, or polyester. They are printed with water based ink and are recycleable and in most cases, biodegradeable.
Flame Retardant Polyester Banner - 5 oz
This tear-proof woven 100% polyester fabric is flame retardant so it can be used at trade shows or in public places like museums for elegant hanging banners and displays. It is water resistant when printed with dye inks (shown) and waterproof with solvent inks. It meets NFPA 701 fire testing standards, and is designed not to fray easily so hemming is optional. Available in widths up to 60".

Flame Retardant Cotton - 10 mil
This 100% cotton fabric banner material is excellent for banners, trade show exhibits, podium signage, table cloths, flags, curtains, and window displays. The image is scratch resistant and waterproof, but water may cause the cotton to shrink or curl, so it is only recommended for indoor applications. Available in widths up to 98".

Blockout Polyester Fabric - 12 mil
This heavy polyester fabric banner material is woven so tightly that it's completely opaque, making it ideal for banner stands. It's scratch resistant, weatherproof and hangs very flat, making it perfect for hanging signs, trade show exhibits, podium signage, and window displays. It can be sewn and grommeted.
Approximate longevity of 15-20 years indoors, and 6 months outdoors.
Poly Oxford 8 oz
This oxford weave polyester fabric has excellent strength and dimensional stability, and is highly wrinkle resistant with excellent color depth. This makes it our favorite fabric and is ideal for banners, POP displays, patio umbrellas, and backdrops, and any indoor or short term outdoor use. Available in widths up to 60".

Polyester Heavy Banner - 10 mil
This 100% polyester fabric banner material is very scratch resistant and weatherproof, making it perfect for banners, trade show exhibits, podium signage, table cloths, flags, curtains, and window displays. It is heavy enough to be used outdoors and can be sewn and grommeted. Available in widths up to 98".
Longevity of 5-50 years indoors, and 6 months outdoors.
Waterproof Matte Canvas - 17 mil
This waterproof canvas is great for art reproductions, photos on canvas, murals, indoor or outdoor hanging banners or point of purchase displays. Can be sewn and grommeted. Available in widths up to 60".

Trade Show Graphics
All of our traditional trade show graphics are eco-friendly. They are printed with water based ink on polyester base films with polycarbonate or polypropylene laminates, which are all recycleable and contain no PVC or other harmful toxins.
Trade Show Banner - 10 mil
This lightweight exhibit graphic solution has a scratch resistant, nonreflective finish like our Premium Trade Show, but is lighter weight, and more economical. It's designed to hang flat with less edge curl to make it perfect for roll up displays and banner stands. It is fabricated with an opaque polyester film with a protective laminate making for a very durable finished graphic. Available in widths up to 60".
Indoor longevity of 5-25 years depending on exposure to light.
Economy Trade Show - 15 mil
This textured opaque polyester film is printed with UV curable inks for a scratch resistant, low-glare finish making it a an economical solution for trade show display graphics. It’s not as heavy or durable as our Premum Tradeshow solution, but it’s heavy enough to hold it’s shape when used for pop up booth panels and is an excellent choice for graphic that attach with velcro to fabric panels. Available in widths up to 50"

Premium Trade Show - 20 mil
This is the most durable, and best looking, trade show graphic solution. It has a scratch resistant, non-reflective finish thanks to the textured polycarbonate surface. This rigid yet rollable solution will hang flat while still conforming to the shape of the booth frame, Shown in the most popular weight of 20 mil, can also be produced in 15 mil for use where a more flexible panel is needed. Available in widths up to 50".

Laminates
While many laminating films contain PVC, we have several that are made of polyester or polypropylene, so they are recycleable and theiri production is much more earth-friendly.
Satin Eco-Friendly Polypropylene Laminate - 3 Mil
This satin finished pressure sensitive laminate offers surface protection for long-lasting, durable graphics with materials that are free of PVC (vinyl) or heavy metals. The absence of heavy metals or phthalates reduces the risk of damaging the health of humans or the environment. Compared to PVC laminating films, polypropylene provides better image clarity for more accurate, vivid colors. This film is a great option for indoor graphics at children’s museums, or other environments, where visitors are encouraged to touch the displays. This laminate is intended for indoor use, but can be used outdoors for up to 6 months.
Polycarbonate Laminate - 5 and 10 Mil
These pressure sensitive laminates, also know as Lexan, are the most durable available. They resist scratches, abrasion and chemicals, and their textured velvet finish hides fingerprints and diffuses glare. They also provide a unique optical technology that prevents the laminate from making the print darker or dulling the color.

Sunbrella® - 10 oz
Sunbrella® is a premium product made in the USA from 100% acrylic, and is the industry standard for high quality street banners, awnings, casual furniture and boat covers. This weatherproof material has a woven canvas look and features excellent UV resistance, high wrinkle resistance and is fray resistant after cutting. Available in widths up to 60".

Backlit Graphics
All our our backlit films are eco-friendly, and are listed here. They are all polyester or polypropylene based films printed with water based inks. Laminates
While most outdoor laminating films contain PVC, we have a few options that are made of polyester or polypropylene, so they are recycleable and theiri production is much more earth-friendly. These are not recommended for long term outdoor use, but if you need protection for your outdoor graphics for 6 months to 1 year, these would be good choices.

While most our display hardware is made from eco-friendly materials such as aluminum, there are a few displays and accessories that are specifically engineered as green solutions. We've included those specially designed products below.
Panda Stand bamboo retractable banner stands are the worlds first environmentally friendly trade show banner displays. As part of providing earth-friendly alternatives to display solutions, Power Graphics is pleased to introduce a new banner stand fabricated with 90% bamboo. This plantation grown bamboo is not part of the Giant Panda's diet, and is the fastest growing plant on earth with a rapid maturity cycle of 3-4 years. These stylish retractable banner stands feature a precision engineered retraction system, clean and streamlined design that is sturdy and practical.

Lotus LED Banner Stand Spotlight
The Lotus LED banner stand light features a stylish chrome finish and a universal fitting to attach to the pole of virtually any banner stand. It has a UL/CE listed 12v transformer with an on/off switch and comes packaged in a travel bag with a padded protective sleeve for the light. It offers nearly the same brightness as a traditional 50 watt halogen bulb, but uses only 5 watts of electricity. Plus, the bulb is rated for 10,000 hours of use. LED lights also opperate at very low temperature so they eliminate the risk of burns and reduce fire danger making them popular in a wide vareity of public displays. Some trade shows now prohibit the use of halogen lights, so this is an excellent alternative for use in those situations.
Lumina 2 LED Banner Stand Spotlight
The Lumina 2 LED banner stand light is a "green" version of the regular Lumina 2 spotlight that includes an LED replacement bulb for the 35 watt halogen bulb that comes with the Lumina 2. This give you the option of using either bulb, depending on your needs. The Lumina 2 is a low voltage "slender" spotlight with curved arm and adjustable head, which mounts to the vertical pole in back of the banner stand and is only available in an attractive brushed stainless steel finish. Light includes 110 volt UL approved transformer, 35 watt MR11 bulb, LED MR11 bulb, and pole clamp. It is the perfect accessory to your banner stand.
Lumina LED Replacement Bulbs
These replacement LED bulbs convert the standard Lumina spotlights into energy efiicient LED spotlights, making them safe to use in locations with strict fire codes. The 35 watt version is for the Lumina 2 light, and the 50 watt version works with all other Lumina lights, or other spotlights that use an MR16 bulb.
